  1. HI Kay,

My grandparents lived in Kevington circa 1910. Taresa DARE (nee MATTEI) operated the unlicensed hotel there, and the Post Office too. Her husband James DARE was a miner.

Have you read Brian Lloyd’s books on the area? He has published many good books, eg “Gold in the Ranges – Jamieson to Woods Point” He is/was an engineer with an interest in both history and mining and our gold tpwns of the ranges. A charming man and highly recommended.

    Good luck,
    Barb
