This is a picture of my grandfather (Dominco Grossi) & Family. On the back of the picture is the following:
The Dominco and Theresa Grossi Family, photo taken in 1921. Standing: Virginia, Henry, Domingo, Eda, Lilly, James, Mary, on mothers lap George. Alfred standing between parents, and Helen on fathers lap.
Dominco arrived in 1892 and Theresa in 1901, both were from Switzerland. He worked for the Shafter Howard Estate in Pt. Reyes before starting his own dairy in 1900 at Olema. In 1903 he moved his dairy herd to the Redman Ranch in Novato. In 1917 the dairy was moved to Novato Blvd. site, where James and his family reside. As a successful dairyman, he went onto purchase seven other ranches in the following years.
