Two years ago Peter Bruschi opened his own restaurant in Brighton called “Blenio Bistro” – named after the valley his grandfather came from before starting a successful career as chef in Britain. This is where I had lunch with a few members of the “Unione Ticinese”, a society founded in 1874 by the emigranti in London.
The Gatti name adorned many a café-restaurant run by Swiss-Italian migrants in London. Michele Andina is zooming in on the story with his video camera all this week, to try to find out about their legacy.
